Two Months Too Soon & Only Two Pounds

We haven’t met yet; I’m Amanda. I started as the CEO of Logatot a month ago next week.

Before I came to Logatot, I was responsible for family enrollment, educator hiring, and all employee and family communications for 40 child care programs in New England. These programs varied in size, serving as few as 20 full-time enrollments and upwards of 120 enrollments.

I saw all of these programs through the worst of the COVID crisis (resulting in 0 pandemic permanent closures). I also made sure that every employee made more money, had more paid time off, could access health care from their first day of employment, and qualified for 75% off tuition for their own enrolled children.

From building onboarding plans for new employees to working directly with state licensors to managing difficult conversations about everything from kiddos biting to tuition increases—I supported more than 1200 early educators through all of it and then some.

Now, it is my privilege and serious responsibility to make lasting positive changes for you.

My background isn’t in early education—it’s in media and communications. The first in my family to go to (and graduate from) college, I paid my way through school with scholarships and loans and full-time work as a promotions and production assistant for two radio stations in Connecticut.

I loved working in media, radio especially, and never thought I would do anything different.

Then, our son, Briggs, came into the world two months too soon, weighing only two pounds. Sixty-one days in the hospital’s Newborn Intensive Care Unit and more than two years working with child life, early intervention, and trauma-informed early care specialists changed everything.

Those women (because they were all women) did so much more than help Briggs—they saved me and our family.

Since then, over the past thirteen years, I’ve sought work that could use my communication, media, and production skills to help create more sustainable, desirable, and profitable careers for those who care for our youngest and often most vulnerable kiddos.

I came to Logatot because, having worked directly in the field with thousands of providers, I deeply understand the stress and unrealistic expectations placed on you. I’ve been in the room when the safest choice for children and staff has resulted in being out of compliance. I’ve fielded those conversations with distraught parents who can’t believe a program would be forced to announce a daily closure just hours before a scheduled opening.

I know that sinking feeling of starting “just one more” episode of the must-watch series way too late on Sunday because the threat of Monday is just too heavy and real.

I’m at Logatot because I want to help shut the noise down.

I’m here to help you save more time, earn more money, and focus on loving what you do.

I’m here to help you go SSF - Sunday Scary Free.

An important and immediate first step to getting there is confidently getting you using your Logatot Voice Command Assistant. Getting started on Logatot hasn’t been as easy as it could be, so we’ve made some changes:

  1. Sign up for our first Learn More to Earn More Session with Logatot Co-Founder Nick Molik and me. We’ll help every attendee get started step by step. By the end of the call, you’ll 100% be able to begin using Logatot the next day!
  2. If you’d like our support team at Logatot to input your enrolled children into the system for you – we can do that! Email me: amanda@logatot.com for help and I’ll take it from there.
  3. Expect to hear from the team and me at least once a week. We want to know how Logatot is and isn’t working for you. We want to know when things feel difficult or confusing so we can fix them quickly.
  4. Feel free to connect with me on LinkedIn. Include a note with your connection request that says you’re a Logatot Child Care Provider, and I’ll accept it as quickly as I can. Once we are connected there, please know you can always direct message me through LinkedIn if that’s easier!

Going forward, I’ll use this space to share important news and stories from the field, product updates, and additional resources and tools with the intention of helping your upcoming week go a bit easier.

Thank you for your service and attention.

With gratitude,

Amanda
